About hard case batteries?

Hard-pack lithium-ion batteries are subdivided into cylindrical and square. The difference from the soft-pack lithium-ion battery pack is that the external packaging shell is a metal shell, so a hard-pack lithium-ion battery of the same volume is much heavier than a soft-pack lithium-ion battery.

Cylindrical lithium battery

Cylindrical lithium battery is a kind of lithium ion battery, its shape is cylindrical, so it is called cylindrical lithium battery.

The structure of a typical cylindrical battery includes:

casing, cap, positive electrode, negative electrode, separator, electrolyte, PTC element, gasket, safety valve, etc.

Cylindrical lithium battery model

Cylindrical lithium-ion cells are usually represented by five digits. Counting from the left, the first and second digits refer to the diameter of the battery, the third and fourth digits refer to the height of the battery, and the fifth digit refers to the circle.

There are many types of cylindrical lithium batteries, the more common ones are 10400, 14500, 16340, 18650, 21700, 26650, 32650, 4680, etc.

Square lithium battery

A typical prismatic lithium-ion battery, the important components include: top cover, casing, positive plate, negative plate, laminated sheets or windings composed of separators, insulators, safety components, etc.

The packaging reliability of the square lithium-ion battery is high; the energy efficiency of the system is high; the relative weight is light, the energy density is high; the structure is relatively simple, and the expansion is relatively convenient.
