What are the different types of autoclaves?

Autoclaves are widely used in various industries and fields to achieve sterilization purposes. There are different types of them, each with its own characteristics and applications. Here are some common types of autoclaves:

Gravity Autoclave: This is the most basic type of autoclave. It uses gravity displacement to remove air from the chamber prior to sterilization.

Pre-vacuum autoclaves: Pre-vacuum autoclaves are designed to remove air more efficiently than gravity autoclaves.

Steam Flush Pressure Pulse (SFPP) Autoclave: The SFPP autoclave is an advanced pre-vacuum autoclave.

Autoclaves: Autoclaves are designed to operate at higher pressures and temperatures.

Rapid Sterilization Systems: These autoclaves are designed for rapid sterilization cycles. They use advanced techniques such as microwaves or radiation to achieve rapid sterilization.

Pass-through autoclaves: Pass-through autoclaves have two doors, one on each side of the chamber, allowing materials to be loaded from one side and unloaded from the other. This design ensures unidirectional flow and minimizes the risk of cross-contamination.
